Philip Clayton

Dr. Philip Clayton is Dean of Faculty at Claremont School of Theology and Provost of Claremont Lincoln Univeristy. He also holds the Ingraham Chair in Theology. He received a joint doctorate in philosophy and religious studies from Yale University.

Dr. Clayton develops a constructive Christian theology in dialogue with metaphysics, modern philosophy, and science. The demands of this task have led to his writing or editing some twenty books and over a hundred articles on topics in religion and theology, as well as philosophy of science and neuroscience, philosophy of mind, history of philosophy, philosophy of religion and constructive metaphysics. A panentheist, he defends a form of process theology that is hypothetical, dialogical and pluralistic.
